The Faith of David

Psalm 18:2-3  The LORD is my rock, and my fortress, and my deliverer; my God, my strength, in whom I will trust; my buckler, and the horn of my salvation, and my high tower.  (3)  I will call upon the LORD, who is worthy to be praised: so shall I be saved from mine enemies.

These verses are part of our Scripture reading for this coming Sunday.  In reading through Psalm 18 I’m encouraged by David’s faith as he reflects on his current and past situation.  He takes strength from what God has done in the past.   Someone struggling through a tough situation would do well to memorize these verses and quote them over and over.

Thanks Pastor. Upon reading (and re-reading) this verse and your blog (to include an earlier email I received from Johnny), the Lord is truly speaking to me. Feeling ‘a little’ (really ‘alot’) discouraged…but “God is great and has unlimited power and will show His children His power if they ask all things in His will.”
